The record low unemployment of our economy is actually inflationary. Businesses are having hard time finding employees, so they have to raise wages. That's great for those specific workers, but not so great for the economy as a whole. Inflation especially punishes the poor, the unemployed, and the elderly retirees on fixed income.
A great solution to the inflation problem is to add more workers to the economy. I'd like to see more immigration to help solve inflation.
We've designed our economy so that the vast majority of our population is trained in high skills. We teach our children calculus, literature, and history, so that they don't become farm workers or physical laborers or many other jobs that Americans absolutely do not want to do. But those jobs are still necessary. And the best way to fill those jobs without raising inflation is through expanded immigration.
